Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue E. Taylor Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American stage actress and producer, is known for playing in the feature film Ray Undercover Brother as well as appearing in The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in film, theater, and TV. Her acting career started in the theatre. She then appeared in several television shows in independent films, mainstream and films. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she was praised by critics and received a variety of nominations and awards including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. In 1995 she was the first actress to make her debut on stage in The Tempest as Ariel. Alongside the Broadway production Come and Gone, she is also credited in Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her film career is highlighted by her appearances in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her role on television in ABC's police drama series High Incident has earned her praises.
